Saussurea lappa (syn. Saussurea costus) C.B. Clarke is an endangered medicinal plant, best known for its antiinflammatory, anticancerous, antiulcerogenic, and hepatoprotective properties.
Saussurea lappa roots have also been used in many other medical conditions including chronic gastritis, stomach ulcers, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and bronchitis in traditional medicine and in inflammation-related diseases.
