Shipping Guide
What is it?
Two ways to get your greens
Hortibasket offers two delivery methods on every order — Standard Delivery for the regular timeline and Express Delivery for faster, priority handling. You pick the one you want at checkout.
Delivery charges are calculated live, based on the weight of your whole order at checkout, so you always see the exact figure for your basket before you pay.
Standard Delivery
Regular delivery timeline — the dependable default for everyday orders.
Express Delivery
Faster delivery with priority handling when you need your plants sooner.
Weight-based charges
Charges are computed from your order's total weight at checkout, so the quote always matches your cart.
See it before you pay
The delivery fee for both methods is shown on the checkout page before you confirm your order.
Delivery methods
Standard vs Express
Both methods deliver to your doorstep, but they differ in speed and handling priority. The charge for each is quoted at checkout from your order's weight.
| Method | What you get | Charge |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Delivery | Regular delivery timeline — the standard option for most orders. | Quoted at checkout from your order's package weight. |
| Express Delivery | Faster delivery with priority handling so your plants spend less time in transit. | Quoted at checkout from your order's package weight — typically higher than Standard. |
How charges work
Quoted from your order's weight
- 01
Build your order and head to checkout, where the delivery method selector shows both Standard and Express.
- 02
The system adds up the weight of every item in your cart — each product's weight multiplied by the quantity you ordered — to get your package weight.
- 03
It then quotes a delivery charge for each method based on that weight. Your basket shows its package weight right alongside the options.
- 04
Pick a method and the charge is applied to your order total, shown clearly before you confirm and pay.
Weight is shown at checkout
The checkout delivery selector displays your package weight (e.g. '2.40 KG package weight') alongside the Standard and Express options.
Free delivery where the rate is zero
If a method's calculated charge for your order is zero, it simply reads 'FREE' at checkout — no hidden math.
Corporate checkout differs
Corporate (GST-invoiced) orders divide quantities across recipients for the single consignment, so their weight handling is tied to the corporate order flow rather than a standard basket.
What affects the cost
Heavier baskets, higher charges
- Order weight: every item in your cart contributes its weight times its quantity to your total package weight.
- Delivery method: Express is faster and prioritised, and its charge is quoted separately from Standard.
- Destination: delivery charges are computed for your shipping address at checkout.
- Bulk and wholesale orders: quantities can push a basket's weight quickly — the charge is quoted at checkout from the final weight.
